As my former beloved Asus Vivobook needed to be replaced, I purchased the HP ENVY x360 15" OLED Touchscreen 2-in-1 Laptop. After 6 months of use, here is my review.
Swift and Responsive:
The HP ENVY x360 is such a fast computer. Fueled by the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor, this laptop works at a pace that allows me to multitask using resource-intensive applications.
Visual Splendor:
The star of the show is undeniably the 15" OLED touchscreen display. Comparing it to the breathtaking scenes of a National Geographic documentary, the screen transcends expectations. The colors are vibrant and the contrasts are striking. The screen is somehow even better quality than my HD television.
Keyboard:
While using the keyboard, there is an audible clicking sound that is reminiscent era of 2012 laptop keyboards. It simply lacks the finesse of a MacBook keyboard. Also the absence of a separate number pad might be a drawback for those who need it for number-heavy tasks.
Touch and Taps:
The touchscreen functionality of the HP ENVY x360 adds a layer of versatility to the user interface. Whether executing touch-specific commands or simply scrolling through documents, the touchscreen is an intuitive extension of the laptop's capabilities.
On the flip side, the touchpad occasionally exhibits moments of unpredictability, locking up at times. The absence of clear markers for mouse buttons is challenging as its hard to pinpoint their location, especially during tasks that demand precision. Despite these occasional hiccups, the touchpad remains a functional component of the laptop's overall interface.
Design Ergonomics:
The elongated width of the HP ENVY x360, while providing ample screen real estate, may present challenges for users with smaller hands. The reach across the touchpad to access the keyboard might feel like a stretch, especially for individuals seeking a more compact design. However, for those accustomed to a broader layout, this layout will be fine for you.
The laptop's weight could sway the preference of potential users. While it didn't detract from my personal experience, individuals prioritizing portability might find the HP ENVY x360 a tad heavier than their ideal.
Visual Elegance and Inclusive Camera Features:
The camera quality of the HP ENVY x360 stands as a noteworthy feature. The camera captures crisp images and offers a virtual lighting feature that enhances image clarity. This addition is particularly great for those, like myself, with darker skin tones who experience lighting challenges.
Final Verdict:
After 6 months with the HP ENVY x360, the laptop has exceptional performance. Its swift speed, stunning OLED display, and inclusive features contribute to a fulfilling user experience. While the keyboard and touchpad introduce minor inconveniences, they are overshadowed by the laptop's overall capabilities.
I give this laptop a solid 8 out of 10 rating. This laptop is great for students, gamers, or personal use. Cheers!
