Over the last 5 years I have suffered from chronic migraines and purchased several different products to help with the pain. In this article, I will review these different products and provide my rating on whether or not they were effective.
It's crucial to recognize that individual experiences with migraines can be vastly different. I am not a healthcare professional, and these reflections are purely based on my personal experiences.
Electric Heating Pad - 9/10
This remarkable heating pad has proven to be a game-changer. When my migraines start from the back of my neck, this heating pad helps relax the muscles. However, I deducted a point for fact that I have to hold it in place while I use it. Apart from that, the relief this product provides with nothing short of incredible.
Aldom Massage Gun - 5/10
Despite how great it is for muscle pain in the legs, arms, and back, the Aldom Massage Gun falls short when it comes to migraines. It lacks the depth of pressure required for headache relief. While it is a high-quality product that I will keep, its focus on soft tissues does not align with my specific needs for migraine relief.
TOMSHOO Acupressure Mat - 2/10
This acupuncture mat failed to live up to its high ratings on Amazon. It had no discernible relief for my migraines. To add insult to injury, the discomfort of its pokey surface outweighed any potential benefits. Although the mat's balls were useful for foot massages, the overall experience was disappointingly unremarkable.
Hilph Head Ice Pack Headache Relief - 7/10
This ice pack gives a nice cooling sensation during migraines. The problem is that it only lasts for about 10 minutes of use before the head of my face warms up the ice pack and it is at room temperature. I need a product that I can use for longer to properly relieve my migraines. I do like that it is hands-free and has a nice comfortable plush fabric and a strap that allows you to adjust the tightness.
LATME Ice Roller - 9/10
This product is quick to get cold and is great at maintaining its temperature for an extended period, which is why I gave it such a high rating. I am able to apply the roller to the exact area where I need relief. The only drawback is the need for continuous rolling, preventing hands-free use. Regardless, this is a small sacrifice to make considering its overall effectiveness.
Neck Stretcher - 8/10
Made to alleviate tension accumulated during desk work, this cervical traction device requires you to lie down with your neck across it to manipulate your neck muscles. This stretcher works for my migraines sometimes For me, I find it works best if I stay on it for half an hour. I also deducted a few points because it as it is used lying down, prevents me from being able to multitask.
NCCYOOT Gua Sha Tool - 10/10
Saving the best for last, this compact Gua Sha tool is as my go-to solution for migraine relief. As I mentioned previously about my migraines originating from my neck, this small tool allows me to target specific muscles and tendons in the neck. This tool delivers a deep, therapeutic massage. The cool, high-quality medical-grade stainless steel and convenient portability make it a standout product in my migraine toolkit.
